The Axarquía region is famous for its picturesque white villages, each with its own unique character. Wander through the narrow streets of Frigiliana (30 min), discover the authentic charm of Cómpeta (45 min), or enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of Iznate (10 min) and the surrounding villages. Here, you can experience the true spirit of Andalusia.
🌿 Hiking & Nature
Casa Bambú is surrounded by mango and avocado plantations, with the impressive mountains of the Axarquía creating a stunning backdrop. Put on your hiking boots and explore the many trails that lead through olive groves, mountain landscapes, scenic viewpoints and hidden valleys.
One of the area's highlights is El Saltillo, a spectacular hiking route featuring suspension bridges and dramatic gorges, often referred to as the "little Caminito del Rey".

The surroundings of Casa Bambú are perfect for exploring by bicycle. Rent a bike or e-bike and choose a relaxing coastal ride or head inland towards the beautiful Lake Viñuela and the white villages of the Axarquía.
Along the coast, you'll enjoy sea views, lively promenades and charming beachside stops. If you're feeling adventurous, you can even cycle all the way to Málaga via Rincón de la Victoria. Along the route, you'll find plenty of places to stop for a coffee, lunch or a refreshing swim.
Prefer nature? The roads around Lake Viñuela take you through rolling hills, olive groves and authentic Andalusian villages, with stunning panoramic views around every corner.

In approximately 45 minutes, you can reach the vibrant city of Málaga. Explore the historic centre, stroll along the harbour, visit the Picasso Museum, enjoy shopping, or discover the city's excellent food scene.
Don't miss the famous covered market, Mercado de Atarazanas, one of Málaga's most iconic landmarks.
